Angus started playing bass for real at about 14 years old (1982), before that he would drop the top 2 strings off an acoustic guitar and plunk out bass lines. He has loved the bass guitar ever since he discovered KISS at age 12 and learned what made that low, rumbly sound. Angus played piano, but he loved the low notes.
He started with bands shortly thereafter and has been playing original music almost exclusively since dropping out of high school. He did finish a year at the Bass Institute in Hollywood, CA, and is still working on his college degree. Angus now works as a paralegal for General Motors and wants to be Geddy Flea if he ever grows up.
His old bands include trip2go and The Reset Method. He has played hundreds of shows throughout Florida and the southeast and is new to Austin, Texas, but he loves it here already. When he went looking for a new band to play with in Austin, he went online and did a lot of listening to "Bands Seeking Bassist". The band he found with the best songs, melodies and people was The Evildoers.
The music that has most influenced Angus: Styx, Rush, Sex Pistols, Anti-Nowhere League, Talas, Yes, Buzzcocks, Shades Apart, Virgos Merlot, Dark New Day, Genesis, John Wesley, Metallica, and Bach.
